Christine showed significant artistic talent at a young age and was encouraged by her family to pursue this through University level.
Following the years of training in the Fine Arts programs of the University of Delaware, Maryland Institute of Art, and New College of SW Florida, Christine began setting her course toward becoming a Muralist and Faux Finisher. She continues to stay on the cutting edge of the industry taking update classes at every oportunity and training her faux finishing crew in the new techniques.
Christine started her business on the west coast of Florida in the Naples area in 1994. She often combines the latest trends in the faux finishing industry with high quality fine art and trompe l'oiel effects to acheive very unique results. She has a great love for her work and revels in the power of a great mural or finish to transform a space.
Christine's work is known not only in the Naples area, but in Arizona, Illinois, New York, South Dakota, Switzerland, and Germany.
She is currently working on a line of table tops that combine the highest quality trompe l'oiel art with superior durabilty. Look for their release eary in 2009.
Kathy Coyle began her creative journey at an early age; Kathy has always had a love for art and initially gravitated towards watercolor. Kathy attended West Texas State University where she majored in fine art.
After raising four children Kathy started a high-end decorative finishing business. Kathy has worked in some of the most prestigious homes in the United States. After many years in the industry Kathy started to teach the art and business of decorative faux finishing. Immediately, after her first class, students were requesting her for future instruction.
Drawing from her years of experience as a decorative faux artisan and fine artist her classroom is always challenging and exciting. She draws the very best out of her students with her patience, humor and gift of encouraging others. Her greatest pleasure is seeing the accomplished finisher continue in the creative process refining and perfecting their skills, pushing themselves to new levels of design.
Currently, Kathy owns and operates her own decorative finishing company in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. As an avid user of the AuraStone™ finishing system, Kathy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom.
Kathy designed our Elegant Stencil Effects curriculum. This is a phenomenal class introducing natural fibers, silks, natural elements, embossing powders, metals, waterborne inks, foils, photo walls, and frescos. Each student will create and learn FRESH ways of producing some of the most sought after finishes in the faux finishing industry.
